The scheduled speedboat is the most popular and economical choice, operating twice daily with a travel time of approximately 90 minutes. It’s a reliable and efficient option, and our team can assist with bookings to match your flight.

For a luxurious experience, the seaplane transfer takes just 15-20 minutes and offers stunning aerial views of the Maldives. Available only during daylight hours, this option provides a memorable start to your holiday and requires pre-arranged bookings.

​

The public ferry, run by the government, is a budget-friendly option. However, it has limited schedules and operates only on specific days, subject to weather. While travel times are longer, it offers a glimpse into local life.

Seaplane

Seaplane Schedule

  • Travel Time: 15–20 minutes

  • Operating Hours: 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM (daylight hours only)

  • Booking Requirement: Advance booking is mandatory. Seaplane schedules are arranged based on passenger arrivals and departures.

  • Cost: Pricing varies depending on the operator and booking time. Contact us for updated fare information.

General Informations​

  • Terminal Information: Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, passengers are advice to go to D117 counter for seaplane check-in information.

  • Arrival: Seaplane lands on a floating platform near Ukulhas, followed by a short speedboat transfer to the island.

Public Ferry

Public ferry Schedule

  • Travel Duration: Approximately 4.5 to 5 hours.

  • Schedule: The public ferry operates twice a week. Departure days are typically on Monday and Thursday from Malé to Ukulhas. Return trips from Ukulhas to Malé are generally on Sunday and Wednesday. Please confirm the schedule in advance, as it is subject to changes.

  • Departure Point: Villingili Ferry Terminal, Malé.

  • Ticket Price: An economical option, typically priced around MVR 53 to MVR 60 per person (subject to changes).

General Informations​

  • Operator: Government of the Maldives (MTCC Ferry Service).

  • Basic facilities are available on board, but the service is relatively minimal compared to speedboats or seaplanes.

  • Reservations: Tickets for the public ferry can be purchased directly at the Villingili Ferry Terminal in Malé. It is advisable to arrive at the terminal at least 1-2 hours before departure to secure your seat, as tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
